Thed is a halfling rogue. As an NPC, Thed is played by Matthew Mercer.

Description[edit | edit source]

Appearance[edit | edit source]

Thed has short, spiky, dark hair and a little goatee that was trimmed to a point at the end of his chin. He has swirled, serpentine shaped tattoos[2] that fold and knot together in a thick band that completely encompass his neck.[3] He has two missing teeth on one side and he has a septum piercing in his nose.[4] When Thed encountered the Mighty Nein for the first time, he wore black-gray leather armor.[5]

Personality[edit | edit source]

Thed was a noted liar, having claimed to be an ale hand that had been using the sewers as a shortcut,[6] that he had a key to the sewers,[7] and that Jester took his money.[8]

Biography[edit | edit source]

Campaign 2: The Mighty Nein[edit | edit source]

Thed was caught in webbing within the nest of a phase spider within the sewers of Zadash.[9] Shortly after, the Mighty Nein defeated the spider and, when he was woken up by Jester, panicked after seeing the bodies of the spider's other victims. When Thed said he was grateful after being rescued, Beau said he could repay the party by telling them about the Gentleman. Thed initially denied knowing anything, but Nott reassured him by using Thieves' Cant.[1]

When the Mighty Nein returned to the Evening Nip, they witnessed Thed fighting Louis, with Thed ultimately winning the fight.[10]

Relationships[edit | edit source]

The Gentleman[edit | edit source]

Thed seems to be afraid of the Gentleman and giving out too much information about him.[11]
