Description

This template is used to automatically create and format wikilinks to comics by automatically italicizing the series title and inserting a pound (#) before the issue number. It is partially adapted from {{ep}} and its associated modules.

The reason one may want to use this template is that it is a shorter way to correctly format the comic title, which otherwise would need to be formatted as [[The Tales of Exandria: The Bright Queen 4|''The Tales of Exandria: The Bright Queen'' #4]]. It is much easier to simply type {{comic|TBQ 4}}.

This template is used in the body of the article. For formatting references to printed works, use {{print ref}}.

Limitations

• Currently, you cannot change the display text of the link. This is really beyond the scope of the template, which is intended to handle the complicated formatting of linking to the typical name of the comic issue. Any other text should be handled in the normal way, i.e., [[The Tales of Exandria: The Bright Queen 4|the final issue]]

Syntax

Type {{comic|<abbreviation>}} somewhere. If you do not wish for the text to be linked, use set |nolink= to any value.

If a non-valid name is put into the template, it will create an italicized wikilink to whatever was written. Consult the table below for a quick guide of some valid inputs and their corresponding series, where # is the issue number. For a full list of valid inputs, see Module:Print ref/Array. These inputs are not case sensitive, and may be used in all caps, all lowercase, or in mixed capitalization per editor's comfort.
