Summon Crimson Shade is a 4th-level spell that summons a Reilora that obeys the caster's commands.[4]
Description[edit | edit source]
Summon Crimson Shade is a 4th level spell that calls forth a Reilora to a spot within 90 feet of the caster that the caster can see. This creature is an ally to the caster and obeys their commands.[3] It is a reskin of Summon Aberration, re-flavored for Imogen Temult's Ruidusborn abilities.[2] When cast at its base level the shade has 40 hit points; presumably, casting it at levels above 4th will give the shade an additional 10 HP per level at which it is cast, as is true for Summon Aberration.[5]
The caster can pick one of several types of Reilora:
History[edit | edit source]
The first on-stream use of the spell was in "Compulsions" (3x40), when Imogen cast it during a fight with a chimera.[4] She cast it again when Bells Hells were scouting out Molaesmyr, but it was almost immediately killed by a mutated elk-like creature.[3]
The crimson shades are Reilora.[10] This was confirmed when Imogen used the spell to summon a shade to show Keyleth the Reilora. This time, the shade appeared much more corporeal than the previous times Imogen had cast it, and she was able to have a conversation with it and learn some of the Reilora's motivations.[11]
At the Bloody Bridge, Imogen asked her summoned Reilora if the other Reilora at the site would be friendly to it; it responded that they were collaborating with the Vanguard and were therefore loyal to the Imperium and would be unfriendly.[12]
