Queen Simone Fruunast is the dwarven queen of the Diarchy of Uthodurn. As an NPC, she is played by Matthew Mercer.
Description[edit | edit source]
Queen Simone is a charismatic and compassionate woman, a well respected ruler, and is both a skilled diplomat and mighty warrior. She has a tendency to follow her emotions before reason.[2] She has a square jaw, rosy cheeks, and curly brown hair.[3]
Biography[edit | edit source]
Simone is the daughter of Queen Judessa Fruunast.[4] She was the first dwarven ruler of Uthodurn to assume the dual throne of the diarchy, rather than as sole ruler, as her mother established dual rule following the settlement of the elven refugees of Molaesmyr in the city.[5] She continues her mother's friendship with Imathan Talviel, the elven king, and frequently relies on his advice.[2] As does King Imathan, Queen Simone maintains her own council as one of the city's dual rulers.[6]
Campaign 3: Bells Hells[edit | edit source]
Simone and Imathan were both evacuated from the Grandcast Citadel when the mass dispelling of enchantments tied to the 843 PD apogee solstice caused the statue of a Great Beast of Veluthil kept in the Citadel to come to life. Bells Hells noticed them speaking to members of their council outside the gates of the Grand Disc.[7]
She and Imathan then requested Bells Hells come to the Citadel the following day at noon as thanks for their service to the city.[8] Bells Hells made the appointment the following day, where the monarchs thanked them and gave them the mithral armor of one of the fallen guards as thanks.[9]
Queen Fruunast, alongside King Talviel, joined the allied forces of the Exandrian Accord in the fight against the Weave Mind, attempting to stop them from releasing Predathos. The corulers were invited as the representative of Uthodurn to the council meeting of the Exandrian Accord, arranged in the Platinum Sanctuary of Vasselheim.[10] She was present in the larger meeting when Bells Hells entered, along with King Talviel,[11] and was also present as an individual in the smaller planning meeting in the Trial Forge.[12]

Trivia[edit | edit source]
- She shares her name with Simone Deepwell.
- The adventure hook A Dreadful Bore in the Explorer's Guide to Wildemount, set in 835 PD, describes a Kryn raid on Uthodurn with the intention of capturing the dual monarchs.[13] As the Vellum Steeple appears to have a cordial relationship with archives in Rosohna in 843 PD,[14] it is likely that this adventure hook didn't come to pass.
