Seething Storm is a 3rd-level spell that creates a roiling storm that deals lighting and force damage to creatures in its area.[3]

Description[edit | edit source]

Seething Storm requires one action to cast, with verbal, somatic, and material components. The spell creates a lightly obscured[4] 20-foot radius stormy sphere of difficult terrain that blinds creatures within it.[1]

Each creature that starts its turn in the area takes 2d6 lightning damage.[3] Creatures that end their turn in the area must make a Dexterity saving throw, taking 2d6 force damage[5] on a failure.[1]

History[edit | edit source]

Imogen first cast this spell in "The Tunnels Below" (3x15) in order to create a choke point in a tunnel through which shade creepers were emerging.[6]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

Seething Storm is a reskin of the spell Hunger of Hadar, dealing lightning and force damage instead of cold and acid damage.[1] This change was made to keep Imogen's lightning and psionic spells theme consistent.[7]
