What the fuck is up with that?[edit | edit source]
- The cast is confused about whether this is an actual topic or a holdover from last month. Dani confirms that it's an actual topic, but they move on.
Do you think about gods?
Let's talk about Aeor!
On saving Laudna from Delilah Briarwood
Vasselheim — we're back, baby!
The Tower of Inquiry: Round 1[edit | edit source]
Brittnie St. Cyr: What is your favorite piece of Exandrian lore or what lore topics are your favorite to delve into? — pulled by Sam
TheSwanAteMyBaby on Twitch: So far in the campaign, what has been your character's biggest achievement and what has been your character's biggest regret? — pulled by Marisha
Renee: Sometimes tension is high and there are arguments between characters. How do you manage those situations outside of the game and check in with each other as friends? — pulled by Laura
theunicornelf in the Beacon Discord: How did you come about choosing your characters for Downfall? How hands on could you be on deciding factors? — pulled by Travis
The Deep Dive[edit | edit source]
Marisha: Does having Delilah in the soul anchor change how you approach playing Laudna?
Laura: You mentioned in the Cooldown how difficult it is to separate your thoughts as the Matron experiencing Downfall versus Imogen watching a thousand years later. What is that brain gymnastics like and how do you keep it all straight?
Travis: Grog made his first cameo! How was it to see your boy and what was the best part?
Sam: How does it feel playing such a flirty character in Braius after being in FCG's fleshy metal skin for so long?
Marisha: Delilah is trapped in the crystal, which Laudna got to metaphorically enter and experience. What do you think of Delilah's prison?
Laura: Ludinus has seemingly confirmed his need for Ruidusborn and that he deeply wants Imogen in particular to join him. What do you think his plans are and how do you feel being a center of his focus?
Travis: What was it like for Chetney to play such a massive part in Laudna's ritual, as the one handling her surgery?
Sam: Braius smoked the heroism pipe, showing a moment of great intensity where he killed a follower. Why was that the moment chosen and why did you highlight that Asmodeus did not speak to Braius?
Marisha: How did Laudna feel standing up to the Council about her powers and connection to death?
Laura and Marisha: Imogen and Laudna are back together! What was it like playing them on the outs and how does it feel for them both to have reconciled after the Delilah debacle?
Travis: Why did Chetney not tell Ashton about the Bright Queen's offer?
Sam: Braius took center stage with the Council, speaking highly of his Bells Hells companions. What was it like to play that moment and do his words reflect his true feelings about his new party members?
Marisha: Laudna and Orym had a few strong moments together before and during the ritual, with Laudna mentioning she hoped that it would be Orym who took her down. Why did she look to Orym for that option?
Laura: We got to see Vex acting as representative for the entire Tal'Dorei Council. What was it like seeing her in a place of such importance?
Travis: What is it like for Chetney to meet a true fan of his work and to be surrounded by all his crafted pieces, especially after being referred to as 'a guy who makes chairs' in front of Exandria's leaders?
Sam: How is Braius feeling with the Platinum Dragon of it all? He's wearing the armor of his former god, being questioned by Highbearer Vord, talking about saints how is the Herald of Asmodeus?
Sam: You are no stranger to playing a new character late in a campaign, with Taryon in C1 and even Veth undergoing a massive physical transformation. How does Braius differ for you? Are there ways in which the experiences are similar?
Marisha: How did it feel for Laudna to finally decide that it was time for Delilah's reign to end? What was the exact tipping point for you during the DeLaudna fight?
Laura: Talk to us about that daydream with Liliana and how Imogen felt learning that her mother will be the satellite for the Occultus Thalamus? Did she want to tell her not to broadcast?
Travis: You've used See Invisibility quite a few times in both Campaign 2 and here in C3. What was it like to turn on that spell and see a MASSIVE FUCKING DRAGON [Athudashionus] overhead?
The Tower of Inquiry: Round 2[edit | edit source]
Ariel VanZandt: It's exciting every time we encounter a character from previous campaigns. What glimmers of their younger selves do you think your past characters still have and what are some personality traits you hope they've developed or discovered? — pulled by Sam
Dani: Who do you think is going to be the hardest to convince of Vox Machina to come back? — asked spontaneously
Tech565(Scaryghosty): As more time passes in the universe with each campaign, do you feel that technological advances will surpass magic at some point or vice versa? Is there a balance that keeps each side in check to prevent such a thing from occurring? — pulled by Marisha
emeraldbeacon: Some character elements, like Chetney's RTA tattoo or Veth's name anagram, seem designed to be revealed much later in the campaign. When you create these subtle details for your character, how do you determine when to reveal them? — pulled by Marisha
GallantGatsby: As someone that wrote 18 pages for their last character, how deep in depth do you get when it comes to a backstory, what's the longest you've spent writing it, and how satisfying was it to finally see it unfold in play? — pulled by Laura
Halloween costumes[edit | edit source]
Because the next episode of 4-Sided Dive will be in October and Halloween-themed, the current guests determined costumes drawing three slips of paper a choosing one described costume. The Halloween episode is described as being of lower intensity in the past, so the costumes are "lazy". Dani also chose a costume.
- Travis: discount vampire, entirely normal not really Super Mario, Apple Watch (chosen)
- Sam: someone who just came back from semester in Spain (chosen), Matt's plaid pajama pants, Kyle's sleep paralysis demon, accidentally drew a fourth: Twitter
- Marisha: chroma key bodysuit — go nuts audience, sword guy (chosen), Florida Man
- Laura: one of the Among Us costumes from the ad read in "The Cradle's Convocation" (3x104) but you're not allowed to inflate it, A Bee Movie — not the Jerry Seinfeld one (chosen), a horse girl
- Dani: yourself but with the tiny face makeup challenge, the feeling of forgetting why you entered a room in the first place (chosen), yourself but bloody for some reason
Outro[edit | edit source]
As promised earlier in the episode, Marisha Ray dances in an impression of breakdancer Raygun (Rachael Gunn), who competed at the breaking event at the 2024 Summer Olympics and was widely criticized online. On-screen graphics award Marisha the wood medal in Rollympic Breaking.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- The drink special on the chalkboard during the Twitch countdown was Slammer of Paradox, a reference to the title Keyleth gave to Ashton Greymoore in "Collecting Legends" (3x105),[1] despite Taliesin not being a guest in this episode.
