Plainscow
Plainscows are a breed of cattle native to the Dividing Plains of Tal'Dorei. Plainscows are most often used as beasts of burden and mounts, and are occasionally raised as livestock as well. Plainscows sell in Westruun for 200 gp.[1]
Description[edit | edit source]
Plainscows are exceptionally large and heavy compared to other types of cow.[2] They are very durable, able to shrug off blows from nonmagical weapons[3] and has a carrying capacity of 1,500 pounds.[4] A typical plainscow stands six feet tall, weighs around two tons, and can live for up to seventy years. Plainscows are unusually empathetic, and often bond with a rider for life.[1]

- The plainscow's inclusion in the Critical Role: Tal'Dorei Campaign Setting may be a reference to the time Vox Machina disguised themselves as cows.[5]
