Nokari is the Lightkeeper for the Circle of Tide & Bone. As an NPC, they are played by Aabria Iyengar.

Description[edit | edit source]

Nokari is tall, with dark skin, and is bald and clean-shaven. They wear sharkskin suits.[2]

Personality[edit | edit source]

Nokari is initially firm with the circle stating at its inception that it will be Cosmo Grimm's final circle before retirement and only because they had pulled strings.[3] However, they quickly grow much more lenient, covering for the circle when they kill Toren Gevni and take his items,[4] and standing up for the group and reaching out to Rajan Savarimuthu at the Lightkeeper Council meeting.[1]

Biography[edit | edit source]

Nokari brought the Circle of Tide and Bone together as a group of people all familiar to Cosmo, with a focus on a specific case at Grayslate Sanatorium.[5] They appeared somewhat irritated at Oscar Grimm, but gave the group their assignment and allowed them to question Silva Sarkis.[6]

Following an initial inspection of Gevni after the circle brought him in, Nokari sent a note to the Circle of Tide and Bone telling them to return to The Antiquarian, where they would be permitted to question Gevni for an hour privately.[7] They also answered a question from Rajan about immortality and the Unabridged but, while they seemed aware of Oscar's condition, did not reveal it to others in the circle.[8] After Oscar killed Gevni, Nokari offered to cover for the party with Candela Obscura and claim it had been unavoidable self-defense.[4] They then gave the group an assignment to investigate the dry-land drownings in Groundswell.[9]

Not long after that, Nokari had a dream about a whale being consumed by scavengers, which preoccupied them while at a Lightkeeper's Council meeting.[10] When the council expressed concern about their leniency after the circle did not neutralize Mina, particularly since the circle also contained several phenomena in their own right, Nokari reached out mentally using their powers to warn Rajan so the circle could take action.[1]
