Description[edit | edit source]

Concept art of Mona and Yuli's performing costumes, by Hunter Severn Bonyun and Cathy Le from The Mighty Nein Origins: Mollymauk Tealeaf.[art 2]

Both sisters Mona and Yuli are contortionists as such are very flexible. During the carnival's parade through Trostenwald, they wore full bodysuits and serpentine makeup consisting of scales affixed to their faces and arms. They were giving away flowers and flyers to onlookers.[2] Orna has not the best opinion of Mona and Yuli.[3]

History[edit | edit source]

Campaign 2: The Mighty Nein[edit | edit source]

The Knot Sisters were the opening act of what would be the carnival's final show in Trostenwald.[4] When the carnival was under investigation for the death and zombification of of Enon Brinjay, Mona and Yuli were confined to their tent with Orna. When the nascent Mighty Nein covertly came to the carnival at night to investigate, Beauregard Lionett tried to ingratiate herself with the twins, without luck.[5] That night after Kylre turned two Crownsguard into husk zombies, Mona and Yuli abandoned the carnival, running away into the night.[6]
