Matthew Key is an American writer, editor, and comedian. Since September 2021, he has been working with Critical Role Productions' subsidiary Darrington Press[1] credited as the co-editor of the Candela Obscura tabletop game.

Previously, Matthew Key was the creative director at Geek & Sundry between September 2017 and March 2019, taking this position after Marisha Ray departed from the company. While with Geek & Sundry, he developed, scripted, and assisted in production of the Mini Primetime series. Between April 2019 and September 2020 Matthew worked with Critical Role Productions as a writer and producer, where he oversaw the writing aspects of the Explorer's Guide to Wildemount.[1]

Matthew worked as a writer/editor with such companies as DEFY Media, Geek Girl Authority, and Afterbuzz TV. He played Luigi on the TV series There Will Be Brawl (2009-2010), co-starring with Matthew Mercer and Jennifer Newman.
