Loras of the Weaver's Mask is an elf wizard and one of the apprentices of Eldamir the Wise, making him a member of the Ring of Gold. As an NPC in Exandria Unlimited: Calamity, Loras is played by Brennan Lee Mulligan.

Description[edit | edit source]

Appearance[edit | edit source]

Loras is an elven man with dark hair and is described as beautiful. He typically wears a partial mask over his face, and when he met Patia in the Archsept, he wore a multi-colored cloak in bright jewel tones.[1]

Personality[edit | edit source]

Loras is an incredibly powerful mage.[2] He seems very calm, and flattered Patia's ambitions.[3] During the fall of Avalir, he, along with the Septarion, were primarily concerned with saving themselves and the city rather than the population.[4]

Biography[edit | edit source]

Background[edit | edit source]

Loras is attended a party in Vasselheim about eight years prior to the events of Exandria Unlimited: Calamity in which he and Lacrytia Hollow spoke to Vespin Chloras about the Raven Queen's ascension and in which Vespin mentioned the Tree of Names.[5]

Exandria Unlimited: Calamity[edit | edit source]

Loras spoke to Patia at the Archsept. He told her that Eldamir's other apprentice, Volucia of Heart's Emblem, had left and that a seat was open on the Ring of Gold.[6] He also informed Patia that Aeor was considering an attack on Lathras to test a weapon and asked her to use the Ring of Brass to deal with that, as well as to get the artifacts from the Eyes of Avalir's investigation into Vespin Chloras through her connections with Cerrit Agrupnin. Loras also told her that the Hall of Prophecy had been closed so the oracles could rest.[7]

While looking into a number of strange occurrences in the city, Cerrit uncovered the Herald's Tome's footage of Loras speaking with Vespin.[8] Nydas and Zerxus meanwhile learned that Loras had personally barred anyone from entering the Hall of Prophecy other than those to whom he granted permission. Sofyra, the oracle to whom they spoke, said Loras's instructions had been unclear.[9] She also said that Loras had spoken to Volucia shortly before she renounced magic.[10]

Loras did not appear in any significant memories Nydas took from the mage,[11] and didn't seemed to be counted among Asmodeus's mortal allies.[12] He did approach Patia at the Archsept when she returned there following the destruction of the Tree of Names and her subsequent resurrection, after she had sent her orb to Maya. She told him to "go fuck [himself]" and that he was a traitor.[13] He told her that unlike her, he would survive the night.[14]

Later, Loras appeared in the Herald's Tome and demanded, as Eldamir the Wise had requested, that Loquatius broadcast a message to the city asking that all skyships and ether be diverted to saving the city and the Septarion.[4] Loquatius told him he would do so, then cast Wall of Force around Loras before giving a broadcast telling the people of the city to evacuate and for all administrators to stay at their posts and go down with the city.[15]
