Kellbast is a dwarven carpenter[5][6] from the Menagerie Coast and a follower of the Traveler. As an NPC, he is played by Matthew Mercer.

When the Mighty Nein met him on Rumblecusp, Kellbast was a scrawny male dwarf with a brown scraggly beard and a mostly bald head, wearing very weathered travel clothes.[7]
Personality[edit | edit source]
Kellbast was friendly, outgoing, and helpful.[8] He shared his life story in detail on his first meeting with the Mighty Nein.

Background[edit | edit source]
Kellbast was a native of Port Zoon[9] who relocated to Feolinn because of its fine plum wood, from which he specialized in crafting furniture. There, he fell afoul of a "racketeering element" going on with other competitive carpentry locations and shops, that nearly succeeded in pushing him out. One day a fine cloaked gentleman in green came in and bought one of his finer pieces, and told him there were ways to get back at those who were trying to tear him down. While he wouldn't want vengeance, a little playful prankery helped him. Kellbast wasn't much of a praying sort, but he'd been trying real hard. He was excited to meet the other worshipers of the Traveler.[10]

Kellbast, along with Celia Ovesso and her bodyguard Trudo, was one of the first arrivals on Rumblecusp for Traveler Con. He offered to help with the preparations by utilizing his carpentry skills to make a better sign.
"Traveler Con" (2x108)[edit | edit source]
Kellbast came in on the Mighty Nein's group hug of Jester after the conclusion of the ceremony on the volcano. Jester approached him just before they left, but got an uneasy feeling and left without saying anything further.
