JB Trickfoot is a gnome from the Trickfoot family and the cousin of Pike Trickfoot. As an NPC, JB is played by Matthew Mercer.

Description

Appearance

JB has dark hair, buck teeth, and the cheekbone structure similar to Pike's. Several of the cast compared her appearance to Wednesday Addams.

Personality

JB has a mild arrest in social development. Ogden Trickfoot described her "very dedicated and sweet, but a bit distracted, at times". JB was tending to Ogden for the majority of her youth. She lived vicariously through the stories of Pike and Vox Machina.

JB likes reading in her free time.

Percy said that JB reminds him of younger Percival.

Biography

Background

Jb is a part of the Trickfoot family. She grew up along with her cousin Pike Trickfoot, when Pike was very young, but they haven't seen each other since. JB is obsessed with tracking and documenting the exploits of Pike's adventuring party, Vox Machina. When the Trickfoots were looking for Pike, the information on Vox Machina gathered by JB allowed the Trickfoot family to narrow down their search to the cities of Westruun and Whitestone. Passing through Westruun on their way to Whitestone, the family check on Wilhand Trickfoot who lived there.

When asked by Pike, JB stated that Lady Vex'ahlia was her favorite member of Vox Machina.

"One Year Later..." (1x95)

JB was among the Trickfoots who visited Pike Trickfoot in Whitestone. When asked, JB told Pike the latest news on Pike's father Theobold Trickfoot and confirmed that she knows of Scanlan Shorthalt. During their visit JB helped her elderly father Ogden Trickfoot to move around Whitestone and fed him.

"Family Matters" (1x96)

Nex day, alongside other Trickfoots, JB got a tour of Whitestone on the Carpet of Flying, where she saw the shooting practice of the Whitestone Rifle Corps. On her walks with Vex JB told her that her family is always moving from place to place, because the locals soon figure out the Trickfoots character and become unwelcoming to the family. JB also told Vex about the Trickfoot curse that allegedly afflicted Pike.

JB was present at the Ogden's staged ritual of exorcism. As the staged ritual was performed and the illusion of a shadow creature created by Ogden was dispersed, JB attempted to run away. Even through Vex and Keyleth's Grasping Vines failed to catch her, JB was grappled by the hasted Vax. JB was sorry. She explained her involvement in Ogden's swindle, saying that she wanted Pike to see her as the hero who saved her cousin from a terrible curse. Pike accepted JB's apology and allowed her to stay in Whitestone.

"Taryon, My Wayward Son" (1x97)

Vox Machina assigned JB to tend after the Whitestone Castle library, reading and cataloguing books, since she has averred herself to be an avid reader.

Post-Campaign

By 836 PD, JB had become head librarian at Whitestone Castle. A potential adventure hook from Tal'Dorei Campaign Setting Reborn involved helping JB deal with imps being summoned by a book about the Outer Planes.
