Delweth is an elf rogue and a member of the Clasp. She is played by Mary Elizabeth McGlynn in "The Return of Liam" (OSx08).

Biography[edit | edit source]

Background[edit | edit source]

Delweth secretly loathed one of the other Clasp members, Tarvis, for being a center of his successful career advancement within the guild. She's been with the Clasp for years, and is itching for advancement. When Delweth was chosen to accompany the heist group assigned to steal a gem from Adelaide Bluebutton's house and led by Tarvis, she decided to take him and the rest of the team down once they secure this gem.[11]

"The Return of Liam" (OSx08)[edit | edit source]

The party was guided by Adelaide's daughter, Devan Bluebutton who knew the secret entrance in the sewers and the approximate layout of the house. Tarvis and Delweth took a moment, before entering the building, to threaten Devan in case she tried to run. Delweth noticed loose bricks at the sewer. Devan pulled the bricks free, revealing a curled up rat sigil, the sigil of "the Shrew". Devan cut her hand and applied her blood to the sigil to activate it, revealing a secret door.[12]

Inside, Delweth and Devan investigated the tea room, Devan opened up, saying she wanted to make friends with them. Delweth promised to protect Devan.[12] Investigating further, Tarvis lifted a carpet in one of the rooms, discovering what seemed like an arcane scrawl underneath it. Delweth recognized the scrawl as a magic sigil that, if activated, would turn gravity haywire. When Devan disappeared, and the party started searching for her, Delweth found another sigil behind a painting. While trying to identify it, the party heard a muffled sounds from a room to the right, where they found a large fish tank with Devan inside struggling against the urge to breathe in and struggling against the poisonous fish. Delweth cast Acid Splash on the fish tank but the glass was too thick to dissolve. Devan eventually escaped casting Misty Steps. Back on her feet, Dvan spotted another sigil of the Shrew in the magic room, but her hands were tied, and Tarvis didn't let them untie her hands to activate the sigil. Delweth liftted Devan, and with a bit of contortionism, the sigil was activated, and a door opened.[12]

In the vault chamber, Delweth was attacked by a baby beholder with a beam of blackish light, but missed her. Delweth cast Sleep on it, but failed. Eventually, Delweth managed to end the large entity, which then fell limp on Tarvis. Opening the vault, Devan recognized and picked up the actual gem, passing it to Dren, while Delweth reached for the fake one and passed it around. Devan, trying to escape, blinded Delweth and Obby. Delweth cast Burning Hands on Devan and Dren. Eventually, Delweth and Tarvis managed to get to Devan through her Minor Images, and Obby stabbed her. Delweth and Tarvis finish her. Obby searched Devan's body, and Dren desperately tries to pry open the sigil that controlled the exit doors. Delweth attacks Dren, then snuck behind Tarvis. Tarvis, Delweth, and Obby find three levers in the room. Obby cut off Devan's hand, while the other two pulled the levers. Obby and Delweth got electrocuted, as Tarvis pulls a lever. They fell unconscious. While Tarvis fed them a healing potion, they heard a fizzle behind them, where they saw a little old woman standing in the closet where the book and the jewel were stored. She raised a staff, and a transparent cage appeared around the three thieves. The Shrew killed them all, drying out all the moisture in their bodies.[12]
