"Critical Role and the Club of Misfits" (OSx25)[edit | edit source]

In her fourth year in school, Andy ended up in a detention class with four other students (Bryan, John Bunder, Andy, and Ally). Professor Furbin gave them an assignment to write an essay of at least a thousand words about who they were. When the professor left the class, Claire and Andy both heard a faint, child-like voice screaming for help in the adjacent Furbin's office. Andy said they had a responsibility to help, but Claire wasn't keen on breaking the rules. When the doxies broke out of the cage, Claire was still outside the office, and two doxies escaped into the classroom and started to terrorize it to her horror. She cast Magic Missile on them, and one of the bit Claire's nose, then it got caught in Claire's hair, while the other pierced Claire's ear. Bunder and Andy ran out to her aid, finishing off the two doxies.[4]

While the party investigated the office, Claire chastised them for messing with things they shouldn't and cast Prestidigitation on herself, then cleaned up some of the mess she didn't want the teacher to see. When the party sneak out of the classroom, Claire asked Bryan for his healing. Bryan gave her an ultimatum: he will use his healing abilities, if she promises to sincerely tell everyone for a month that they are best friends. At first, Claire did not took it series, but when Bryan was about to leave, she briskly agreed, and Bryan, with his back facing her, cast Cure Wounds.[4] Soon after, Claire thanked Bryan for his help and designated him as her ward, saying that he enlisted to "absolutely nothing".[4]

Preparing for the chess game, Bryan cast Beacon of Hope, healing everyone to their maximum HP. Claire cast Mage Armor on herself, and claimed the role of the queen, taking the ability to move allied pieces. When the game started, a number of giant spiders entered the board. She got How do you want to do this? on the biggest spider. At the end, Clair felt regret for treating her companions so poorly, apologizing. Bryan cast Command on her to make her grovel, but it didn't work.[4]

The group rushed back the classroom, Claire Flying back. Hopping from the one moving stairs to another, Bryan not quick enough and fell down, but was saved by Claire who used the newly-acquired ability to swap with her ward.[4]
