Category talk:Bases of operations
Add topicUsefulness?[edit source]
This category doesn't seem all that useful because it's.... what does that mean a "base of operations"? It would essentially encompass any building or district that reasonably exists, because almost everything is a base of operations for someone.
Going in the pattern of articles already included: the Lavish Chateau is the base of operations for Marion Lavorre, the Lucid Bastion for Leylas Kryn and the entire Dynasty, Castle Ungebroch for the Dwendalian government, the Nein Heroez for Fjord's crew, the Squall-Eater for Avantika's crew, Jrusar for the Mahaan houses, Emon for the Council of Tal'Dorei, Ank'Harel for the Alsfarin Union, Darktow for the Revelry, etc. Really, the Lavish Chateau, the Brenatto Apothecary, Tidepeak Tower, Driftwood Asylum, Port Damali, Chantry of the Dawn, Emon are all bases of operation for someone.
I question the usefulness of the category on the basis that it feels too vague and on the basis that I'm unsure if folk (editor or reader) would wish to view a group of articles in such a set (it feels perhaps a little bit of a category for the sake of having a category)? Is it actually likely that someone will want a list of all locations that are a base of operations? ~FreckledMcCree (Send me a message!) 02:59, 13 December 2021 (UTC)
- I was also confused at the category when I saw it being added to articles. I see the connection between greyskull keep, the xhorhaus, and the nein sided tower. It also seems pretty clear that "base of operations" is intended to refer to the PCs and not the NPCs. I just don't see how it all really fits together with taverns and the cobalt soul because the definition seems kind of loose. SeiverEl (talk) 09:20, 13 December 2021 (UTC)
