Carol is a humanoid woman, who at some point after her death was animated as a zombie under the necromantic control of Gern Blanston. She serves alongside her fellow thralls Coral, Fatty Arbuckle, and Stimpy. As an NPC, Carol is played by Matthew Mercer.

Biography

Before Campaign 1

Carol was not related to Gern Blanston or his other thralls, although Gern did get Carol and Coral confused and considered them all a make-shift family.

Campaign 1: Vox Machina

While investigating the ruins of Pyrah after Thordak's escape from the Elemental Plane of Fire, Vox Machina spotted a group of four undead creatures. After a low Stealth roll, Scanlan alerted Carol to their whereabouts, and she started hobbling towards them. Not knowing Gern Blanston yet, Vex'ahlia shot an arrow at Carol, then Vax'ildan threw a dagger at her, severing her head.

Trivia

• "Carol" is an anagram of "Coral", one of Gern's other undead thralls.
• "Carol" and "Coral" could very possibly be references to The Walking Dead series on AMC, where Carol is a mainstay character, and Coral is a commonly misheard version of "Carl" uttered by Rick Grimes
