Aurora Hold
The Aurora Hold is a tall gray tower in the middle of Asarius which is used as a base of operations by the Kryn Dynasty, the large local contingent of Aurora Watch soldiers, and Den Olios.
Building description[edit | edit source]
Exterior[edit | edit source]
The Hold is a three-story gray stone spire with dark glass accents. It appears elven in design, and stands out for both that and its height in the city of Asarius, which has few tall buildings.[1] The design evokes that of a church and steeple: a single story building with a slanted roof, and a much taller tower that comes to a point. The "church" portion of the building's roof, however, is slightly curved, similar to a pagoda. The windows are stained glass, in muted purples, blues, grays, and silvers.[2] The front door is at the top of a set of wide stone steps.[3]
Interior[edit | edit source]
The first chamber takes on a blue and purple light coming from the stained glass windows.[4] There are a number of well-made chairs inside, and two doors opposite each other, one to the right and one to the left, each with a bell hanging from a cord beside it. The door to the left leads to hallway with a stone wall, that in turn leads to the reception chambers of Zethriss Olios. Each doorway in the building, and the stone of the corridor wall, is carved with intricate scrollwork; the decorations on the doors looks like ivy.[5]
Lady Zethriss Olios's reception room is heavily guarded. Her chair is a reddish-purple velvet lounge chair with a high back. The chamber also has a small helical altar in the center on which there is a hollow brass dodecahedron.[6]
Exiting this chamber, the hall curves to the left and then comes to a small circular chamber where it is met by the hall originally reached by the door on the right of the entrance room. There is a spiral staircase here, leading up into the tower of the Aurora Hold. This room also has a heavy, locked set of double doors with the symbol of the the Luxon. Beyond those doors is another staircase, this one leading down a hundred feet, to three small diamond-shaped chambers, each marked with a silver arch at the entryway. These rooms hold teleportation circles. One leads to the Lucid Bastion in Rosohna.[7] .
