In The Legend of Vox Machina, Asharru is voiced by Jennifer Karraz.
Description[edit | edit source]
Mistress Asharru is a woman in her mid-to-late forties, with black hair streaked with white. She is missing her left eye marked by a scar sealing it closed. Before her death, Asharru wore ornate scale mail armor of black and purple color.[2] In The Legend of Vox Machina, she is depicted with grey hair and wears an eye patch over her missing eye.[3]
Biography[edit | edit source]
Background[edit | edit source]
After Vox Machina passed Kamaljiori's test, he told them that the current wearer of Cabal's Ruin was "a merchant-warrior with a missing eye in the walls of Ank'Harel."[4]
Campaign 1: Vox Machina[edit | edit source]
When Vox Machina traveled to Ank'Harel, seeking Cabal's Ruin, they learned that this merchant-warrior would likely be a member of the Scarbearers, a mercenary group that could be found at the Debt's Respite.[5] At the Scarbearers' establishment they spoke with Treev Bonebreaker, who assured them that he could get in contact with Asharru, but it could take a week for her to respond. Treev handed off a scroll and gold to an androgynous masked and hooded figure, and the figure took a tortuous trip through the city, apparently trying to shake anyone who followed,[6] but Vax'ildan was able to keep up discreetly and saw where the scroll was dropped off: a closed furniture store called "A Kingly Home".[7]
Returning to the drop off point and exploring the interior of the store, Vax'ildan found Mistress Asharru dead with multiple puncture wounds across her torso and Cabal's Ruin taken. After Vox Machina inspected the body and the surrounding room, they came to the conclusion that she was shot by Anna Ripley.[8]
The Legend of Vox Machina[edit | edit source]
In LoVM canon, Asharru was an Emira of the Coast and a dear friend of J'mon Sa Ord, the ruler of Ank'Harel. Anna Ripley murdered Asharru in Ank'Harel archive as Ripley was stealing Cabal's Ruin and a replica of the Plate of the Dawnmartyr.[3] Her death gravely hurt J'mon Sa Ord almost apprehending the Vox Machina who were blameless.[9]
